报告摘要:
Centroidal Voronoi tessellations (CVTs) are special Voronoi tessellations having the property that
the generators of the Voronoi tessellation are also the centers of mass, with respect to a given
density function, of the corresponding Voronoi cells. In this talk, we will extend the classic CVT
methods to the Edge-weighted CVT and apply it to the image segmentation. It shows great advantage
compared to other image segmentation algorithms. We will further extend it to the Local Variation-EWCVT,
which can be used to handle the non-homogeneous images. And we will also apply EWCVT to the Superpixels.
Experiments and results will be given in this talk.

王小强,男,1974年生, 2005年毕业于Pennsylvania State University,获理学博士学位,现为Florida State
University科学计算系副教授,主要从事数学生物、大数据与数据挖掘、图像处理和高性能科学计算等研究,在
《Journal of Computational Physics》、《Physica D》、《SIAM J. Math. Anal.》及
《IEEE Transactions on Image Processing》等著名数学SCI期刊发表科研论文20余篇。
